FLEXFLY
Traveling can be a very stressful endeavor. Between flight delays, hidden fees, and all the stress in between, it can be hard to stay calm and collected throughout the entire traveling process.
That's where we step in. This product serves both as a tool and resource to help inform all travelers - both experienced and inexperienced - of any flight-related details. To mitigate the stress, we provide a tool that breaks down communication barriers and informs the user of any delays, important security protocols, and more.

LET'S GO A LITTLE DEEPER...
GOAL
Our design is to be an assistant to our users, so if we have to choose between the usefulness of a feature versus elegance, we should always choose usefulness.
Our design is to be a useful toolbox to mitigate the stress of traveling. Every feature should make sense and not make the user ask "What does this do? Why is it here?"
Our desire is for our users to feel calm and collected. Our features are to help break down communication barriers because without communication, there is no trust — and without trust, there are no customers.
Our users' needs have grown with the research our team has conducted. We must keep their needs a top priority.
Our design should be intuitive to seasoned travelers as much as to novice travelers. Usability and accessibility should come first. We should keep our design consistent and language simple.
USER PERSONAS
Based on our findings from our survey we were able to identify major pain points users were experiencing while traveling. We created user personas using Figma.
CARD SORTING
We curated a list of keywords that we wanted to incorporate into this project. These keywords vary between overall categories, potential actions, and page names that our team wanted to include within the app concept. Below is a Similarity Matrix, which breaks down the proportion of all participants who grouped any two of our keywords together. The numbers within each block represent the percentage of participants that grouped these words together. For example, Check In and Flight Status were grouped together by 77% of participants.
To further understand our research, we organized and consolidated similar categories, based on our user data. As shown in the image above, there were 7 main groups created across all participants.
APP NAME
In order to create a seamless app experience, the name of the app needs to align with the overall goal. Below are the results from a questionnaire, which asked research participants what they believed each app name
Question: What kind of service do you think this app provides to users?
STYLE TILE
Each team member created a style tile for the prototype using Figma. We converged on design elements that led to our final iteration of the prototype's style tile.
